This week's story is - Fionn and the Salmon of Knowledge
This is an old tale, part of the Fianna cycle of Irish mythology, narrated by Ossian, and with significant resonances in Scotland. Finn (MacCumhaill) MacCoull became the leader of an elite volunteer group of warriors and huntsmen, skilled in poetry, the Fianna flourished under the reign of Cormac mac Airt in the 3rd century AD.
Fish have been symbols of wisdom for thousands of years. Pictish carvings found near my house depicted salmon signalling their importance to the early peoples of the land. I hope you enjoy x
